Affiliation
Humboldt is one of 23 campuses of the California State University,
the largest, most diverse, and one of the most affordable public
university systems in the world.
Academics
49 bachelor's degrees, 82 minors, 12 graduate programs, 17
credential programs and numerous certificates of study. Known nationwide
for its natural resource and science programs, Humboldt is actually
a well-rounded liberal arts institution. Humboldt boasts lively visual and
performing arts programs, nursing, business, environmental resource
engineering, psychology, and teacher preparation programs, among others.
Additional Facilities
Humboldt owns or uses many nearby off-campus facilities,
including an observatory, natural history museum, marshes, lakes
and ponds, forest lands and research station, a sand dune preserve, art galleries,
and a wildlife care facility. The Telonicher Marine Lab is located
just north of Arcata in the seaside village of Trinidad, and our 90-foot research
vessel “Coral Sea” is berthed in Eureka, just 7 miles south of campus.
Registration fees are among the lowest in the nation, making
an education at Humboldt State University an incredible value.

Residence Halls
- About 18% of Humboldt students, especially new freshmen and transfers,
choose to live on campus.

or Wellness Living appeal to many students.

Athletics, Clubs, and Recreation
- NCAA Division II teams include
football, men’s and women’s basketball, soccer and track and cross country; women’s volleyball,
women’s softball,and women’s crew.
- Club sports include rugby (nationally ranked 2 years in a row!), mountain
bike racing, men’s crew, men’s lacrosse, baseball, cheer, ultimate Frisbee,
men’s volleyball, and more.

on campus, including academic/professional, Greek, cultural, religious
and more.
- Center
Activities are available to students and community members and include
an incredible variety of fun and useful classes: backpacking trips, fly
fishing lessons, art of henna, rock climbing, sea kayaking, West African
dance, bird watching, EMT courses, surfing and many others! The Center Activities
office also rents recreational equipment.
