Schedule
All participants are required to attend an orientation session on Wednesday, April 29 on campus (in BSS 310).
All participants should arrive at the campground by 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, to assist in setting up equipment for the next day.
We will be working with the basket weavers all day on Monday, May 18. We will have a potluck at the campground with the basket weavers on Monday evening; students are required to bring food to contribute to this event.
April 1, Wednesday: Applications due at HSU Extended Education
April 8, Wednesday: $350 tuition fee (2 units, Extended Education)
April 29, Wednesday 4-7 p.m.: Mandatory orientation session: BSS 310
May 1-15: View the Karuk basket collection at the Clarke Historical Museum
May 17, Sunday: Arrive at campsite on the Klamath River by 2 p.m. (3-hour drive from Arcata)
May 18, Monday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Work with basket weavers.
May 19, Tuesday: Wrap-up session 8 a.m. to noon, followed by camp breakdown
May 29, Friday: Journals and papers due in the anthropology dept. office: BSS 518
