Applied anthropology, North America, South Pacific, Ethnographic methods, visual/aesthetic anthropology, Native American art, ethnographic representation, anthropology of tourism, anthropology of development, heritage management.
Teaching Experience:
I have taught at UCLA as a teaching assistant and professor, and at HSU beginning in the fall of 2008.
Professional Background:
I am trained in art history and cultural anthropology. My research is concerned with indigenous representation, politics, and development. More specifically, I am interested in the cultural production, commodification and consumption taking placeat indigenous-owned cultural tourism sites across the Pacific Rim. |
