GreenLab Opens
Setting out to find the next great idea: That's the mission of the GreenLab, Humboldt State's newest research institute.
The lab will serve as a meeting space, research facility and design lab for students of the Applied Technology program and community business leaders.
Already, there are plans to partner with international research firms and the ideas are starting to flow in. Working in the GreenLab, Dr. Jamie Russell and his students design innovative products that solve big problems -- like saving one local company as much as $4,500 on their monthly energy bills or putting recycled styrofoam to use as insulation.
The ideas that will be refined and developed here may just go on to be the next big thing.
