Linking to Discussion Board from Menu

Bug:

Adding a link/button to the Discussion Board to the course menu does not work.

Details:

This happens when the link is created using the "Add Tool Area" button in the "Manage Course Menu" section of the Control Panel.

Workaround:

Use the "Add Course Link" feature instead of the "Add Tool Area" feature to link to the Discussion Board from the course menu.

To Add a Course Link:

1. In the Control Panel of your course, click on Manage Course Menu.
2. Click on the Add Course Link icon (see above).
3. Type a name into the Area Name field. This will be the text that becomes hyperlinked.
4. Click on the Browse button. The Course Map will open (see below).
5. Click on the radio button next to the name of the course item you would like to link. The Discussion Board radio button will be within the Communications folder.
6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Submit button.
