The Nature and Practice of Science for Elementary Education (SCI 431)
Summary of research
I am a Research Associate of the Redwood Science Project, which is a project that works to enhance K-12 science and math instruction.
My work includes research in science education, instructional technology development and support, and professional development programs.
I am collaborating on a research project that is examining factors that influence science undergraduates' choices to join the teaching
profession. In addition I am collaborating on a project to develop a plant sciences curriculum for K-8 with an emphasis in ethnobotany.
My other research interests are in the area of ethnobotany with an emphasis in cultural change of medicinal plant knowledge among
Caribbean populations, women's health, phytoestrogens, and methodology.
