Rules of usage
The following rules will
be enforced. Violation of the rules will result in the loss of privileges
with the possible revocation of open access key rights.
1. You must register with
the stockroom manager to use equipment in the stockroom. Registration
will require that users be trained in the use of instrumentation and
any chemicals involved. The following equipment is available for use.
Licor Sequencer
MJR Thermalcycler
BioRad Realtime PCR / Gradient PCR
ABI Realtime PCR
Kodak for SYBR Green gel imaging
You may not use any other
equipment, glassware, plasticware, chemicals or supplies in the stockroom
without authorization from the stockroom manager. Basically:
If you did not bring it with you DO NOT use it.

2. Users must sign in when
using the facility this includes students and faculty.
3. If the stockroom manager
is not present, users do not have authorization to enter the main
portion of the stockroom. Users should always enter the main portion
of the stockroom via the front door. Users do not have the authority
to issue equipment, chemicals or supplies to students, faculty or
the public. Users do not have the authority to use the stockroom phone.
4. Users will provide their
own plasticware, glassware, chemicals, and support equipment such
as pipettors, centrifuges, etc.
5. Users are expected to
keep workstations clean and report problems immediately to the stockroom
manager.
Biology Stockroom Keys
Stockroom access must be
authorized by the stockroom manager. Access will be limited to the
back door of the stockroom. One key will be issued to a faculty member
whose lab group needs access to the equipment. It is the responsibility
of the faculty member to develop a secure system to issue their key
to members of the lab group. Report the loss of a key immediately.
