Internship Peer Advisor Profiles

Lucia: My name is Lucia Garcia. I studied abroad last semester in Spain and am a senior double majoring in Women Studies and Ethnic Studies with an International Business minor. I have interned at the RAVEN Project in Eureka and for a non-profit organization in L.A. called Break the Cycle. My hobbies are dancing, going to music gigs, eating vegan junk food, and watching indie films. My career goals are to travel the world working with local grassroots organizations and eventually creating my own. More coming soon...

Anondah: Hi my name is Anondah Saide. This is my 5th year at HSU and I'm a Sociology major. I enjoy hanging out at the beach, cooking, and woodworking. My favorite stress relievers are dancing and yoga. In the Summer of '07 I did an internship in Human Resources in New York City and had a blast! Eric: Hi, my name is Eric McDermott. I am a senior here at Humboldt in the Forestry program. For the past three summers I worked as an intern with the Oregon Department of Forestry and I can honestly say after that experience that I have found my dream job. I was a mentor for three years at my high school and I absolutely love working with others. I am really looking forward to helping my fellow HSU peers find and get into an internship that they will enjoy as much as I did mine.

Humberto: Hi, My name is Humberto Contreras. This is my 5th year at HSU. I am a pre-med student majoring in Cell/ Molecular Biology. In the Summer of '07 I participated in a program called BIGS. The program is administered by the Center of Excellence in Genomic Science at USC. Once I complete my undergrad work I plan on attending med school to seek a career in the medical field. I am currently working as a consultant to the IPAs.
