An all-star, mega-band launched in 2004 by the San Francisco Jazz Festival, the Collective has quickly become one of the most exciting and acclaimed groups on the jazz scene. Balancing classic works by great jazz composers with new compositions commissioned for the band, the Collective embodies the message that jazz is an exciting, living, ever-changing, and ever-relevant art form. Each year the group performs works by a modern master—this year, legendary jazz pianist Horace Silver—and one new piece by each of the Collective members. It’s the ultimate jazz lover’s evening!
