Current law in California does not allow scholarships to be provided through State agencies for particular groups. |

Sara J. Codding
is our 2005-2006 Russell Inorganic Chemistry Scholar. Her research
will be performed under the direction of Joshua Smith. Sara
received her award certificate from Josh prior to our last seminar
of the spring semester, 2005. Kjirsten Wayman represented the
scholarship committee.

| Joan M. Zoellner is our 2005-2006 Clark Organic Chemistry Scholar. She is pursuing a computational study under the direction of Bob Zoellner (and Joan's father). Bob presented the award certificate to Joan prior to our last seminar of the spring semester, 2005. Kjirsten Wayman represented the scholarship committee. |  |
Each year the publishers of the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics sponsor an award of a free Handbook to the "top" student in Chem 109/110 at HSU. This year Frazer Meacham was selected as HSU's recipient.
Each year the American Chemical Society (ACS) sponsors an award for the top analytical chemistry student in our department. The award consists of an honorary membership in the Analytical Division of the ACS and an eight month subscription to Analytical Chemistry, one of the world's leading journals of analytical chemistry. This year our award went to Stephanie McLaughlin.
We would like to thank the many alumni and their parents who have made donations to the Chemistry Department Trust over the years.
For the fifth year in a row a generous alumni donation allowed us to offer two Research Scholarships (our endowment will only currently support one).
