Conservation Unlimited Fundraising

We have several fundraising activities that help us pay for the workshops, classes, conclave, and other activities we put on.

Fundraising Efforts

Our main source of income for the club comes from our Coffee Table, located in the lobby of the Wildlife & Fisheries Buildling. We pride ourselves on having the best coffee table on campus, with over 70 items including organic fruit and organic fresh-roasted Bayside Roasters Coffee. Our items are fresh and our wide selection means that there's something for everyone. We are in the process of converting our Coffee Table to minimum-waste and will be introducing compostable coffee cups and lids in Fall 2007, as well as expanding our organic selection and eliminating wasteful items like stir straws and baked good wrappers.

We also offer Conservation Unlimited items for sale, please check them out in our Marketplace. These items are available at the CU Coffee Table, or you can email us to set up a mail order.

We also hold Carwashes each semester at Wildberries in Arcata. Wildberries provides the eco-friendly soap and we provide the elbowgrease to get your autos clean. These carwashes are not very lucrative, but they help us connect with the community, and they are a lot of fun too!

We have two major fundraisers during the year. The Beast Feast is an organic game meat feed (with herbivore-friendly fare of course) with other organic food, and bluegrass music. The Beast Feast is a Conservation Unlimited institution that many alumi remember fondly. We have not had The Beast Feast in over 3 years and 2007 marks the return of this night of good food and great music!

The Wine & Cheese Gala is a wine and cheese tasting with auction fundraiser. The first annual was held on November 11th 2006 and was a great success. Guests tasted local wines and sampled wild game hors d'oeuvres from game meat donated and prepared by students. Cypress Grove provided the award-winning cheeses, and Eureka Brass played wonderful jazz and swing music that kept everyone dancing. The event raised $2600 for Conservation Unlimited. Please keep checking back for updates as we plan for next year's Wine & Cheese Gala.
