Section 3: GOVERNANCE, ORGANIZATION AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF STANDING COMMITTEES
3.1 The Academic Computing and Accessible Technology Committee (ACATC). The purpose of the ACATC is to assess the computing and accessible technology needs of the College and to pursue ways and means of satisfying those needs. Computing and accessible technology needs may include administrative, instructional, research and support services. The ACATC may recommend and/or implement in-service training for faculty and staff.
3.1.1 The ACATC membership consists of an elected representative from each administrative unit. Smaller departments may chose not to be represented on this committee
3.1.2 The ACATC will select a Chair from its membership.
3.1.3 The ACATC will select from its membership a college representative for University-wide committees related to academic computing and accessible technology programs and services.
3.1.4 The ACATC shall be responsible for: consulting with the academic units on their computing and media needs; preparing long-range planning documents; acting as an advisory unit for those seeking and preparing grant proposals to secure funding for instructional technology and computers; prioritizing college accessible technology needs to be consistent with the long-range plan; developing and disseminating information materials related to academic computing and accessible technology.
3.1.5 The College Information Technology Consultant (ITC) shall be responsible for the following: attending campus IT Council meetings; attending ACATC meetings; and supplying comparative data on issues to be reviewed by the committee members. The ITC shall act as an advisor to the committee.
3.1.6 The ACATC shall give an annual written report by May 1 highlighting its activities/accomplishments to the dean.
