Scoring Portfolios
Updated: 07/08/04

For each portfolio that you score, pencil your reader number on the outside of the portfolio folder (top right-hand corner, please) and in the "Second Reader" row on the scoring guide grid.

Reader Number
Score
First Reader: 16
(magic pen)
Second Reader: 40 (pencil)
 5 (magic pen)
Third Reader:
  Portfolio

Use your magic pen to note the score you assign to each submission you read.

Once you have scored your portfolios, return them to the table leaders and obtain a new set.

Please make no marks on the submissions themselves.

The reading room must remain absolutely silent. Readers who need to consult with the table leaders or with each other must do so outside the reading room.

Please read portfolios as quickly as is comfortable. Holistic scoring studies suggest that with quick reading comes a good deal of accuracy. Remember that your table leaders are looking out for you and will notify you if your accuracy wanes.
