A campus committed to diversity is one that acknowledges and celebrates differences among people and welcomes diversity in all its forms
Deadline for submissions: Thursday, November 19, by 5pm
The Diversity Program Funding Committee will review and approve proposals for multicultural programs on campus. For a program to be deemed multicultural and receive funding it must be offered on campus to the university community and raise awareness of ethnic diversity, cultural diversity, and/or increase participation and retention of underrepresented groups in the campus community.
Funding available for the Fall 2009 semester will be about $17,000. Allocations for HSU Diversity Program Awards typically fall between $100 - $5,000. Partial funding for programs/activities is possible.
At this time, the Committee is not able to fund individual travel from HSU to other destinations, research projects, curriculum development or off-campus recruitment projects. Also, the following can NOT be funded: fundraising activities, alcoholic beverages, or per diem. Some funding will be allowed for food expenses provided food is an integral part of your cultural programming (this would need to be clearly explained in the program narrative).
Student organizations, staff and faculty are invited to submit proposals for multicultural programs. Each proposal should include an application form, a description of the program and a balanced categorical budget. You can download application materials here.
If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Radha Webley at 826-4502 or by email.
