Phytoconis:
considered a basidiolichen as the stipe base is associated with
a green alga. Only one species is quite common: Phytoconis
ericetorum which is characterized by its pale yellowish pileus
which is typically translucent-striate to its darker disc, very
pale yellowish-white, decurrent gills, its pale, bald stipe, and
its habitat on moss-covered logs. It is very abundant in northern
