The Humboldt Area Foundation's mission is "to develop philanthropy, to engage in effective grant making and to provide services which assist donors and public benefit organizations to better serve their communities."

The Humboldt Area Foundation was founded on May 3, 1972 by Vera Perrott Vietor. The Foundation has an endowment for the North Coast that has resulted in grants to local charitable organizations working to improve our community.
