Economics 309, Spring 2003: SWOT Analysis of Prosperity

Note: Students in Economics 309 (The Economics of a Sustainable Society) were given the assignment to write a four-page SWOT (Strenths/Weaknesses/Opportunities/Threats) analysis of the Prosperity economic development "strategy". Prosperity - The North Coast Strategy has been adopted by the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors as Humboldt County's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). While some of these students are Economics or Business Administration majors, for many this was their first exposure to economic development. Many students conducted interviews of affiliated Prosperity Network member organization staff, and researched other local or regional economic development plans.
