The Aquaculture Project supports a variety of fish that are native to
California's North Coast. The principal species are Coho and
Chinook Salmon, Cutthroat Trout, Rainbow
Trout, and White Sturgeon, with other species being Sacramento Blackfish, Steelhead,
and Mosquito Fish. The project has an annual average of 2000-9000 salmon smolts to Arcata
Bay, 2000-5000 rainbow trout for the Klopp Lake Fishery (the picture on the right),
1000-20,000 coastal cutthroat for local creeks and lagoons.
