GENERAL INFORMATION 
REGISTRATION
Each
term, current registration materials are available outside
the Academy office, Music 128; as a download (.pdf) from this website, and at Registration Day. Students
who were registered for the previous term are mailed registration
materials. Students may register by mail or fax (with credit
card payment) before Registration Day, or in person on Registration
Day from 9:00 a.m.- noon in the Music Building lobby:
Fall - Saturday, August 18, 2007
Winter – November 10, 2007
Spring – February 16, 2008
A late fee of $6.00 will be charged for registration forms received after Registration Day. A student schedule listing classes, lessons and locations is mailed prior to the first day of class.

TUITION
& FEES
Tuition per term covers nine sessions, the Open House Concerts, and an End-of-Term Program. Rates for private lessons vary by instructor within the ranges shown below. Please refer to the Private Lesson Fee Schedule published each term to determine an instructor's rate.

There is a $7.00 nonrefundable Registration/Use Fee charged each termin addition to tuition charges.
If you register after Registration Day, there is a $6.00 nonrefundable Late Fee assessed in addition to tuition and the Registration Fee.
Academy students may purchase an HSU identification card allowing them to use the HSU Library, upon payment of a $5.00 fee. Validation stickers are available to any currently registered Academy student at the Academy Office, Music 128, on Saturday class days.
PAYMENT OF FEES
Tuition
and Registration Fees are due and payable on Registration Day
by check, money order, cash, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard,
Discover). There will be an additional $10.00 fee charged for
any check returned for insufficient funds.
REFUNDS
The registration/use
fee is nonrefundable.
Refunds
of tuition charges will not be made after the second class
meeting or private lesson.
SCHOLARSHIPS
A
limited number of partial scholarships are awarded each term
based on the combined consideration of merit, enthusiasm on
the part of the student for music and financial need. Applications
are available on the website and outside the Academy office,
Music 128. The Scholarship application due dates are:

MISSED CLASSES & LESSONS
Private lessons are not made up, except in cases of illness or exceptional circumstances, when the instructor has received 24-hour notice. In the case of an instructor absence, make-up lessons will be offered. There are no make-ups for missed classes.
LOCATION & PARKING
The Academy's classes and private lessons take place in the Music, Art, Theatre Arts, Siemens Hall and Gist Hall on the HSU campus. Classes are held on Saturdays and parents may park free that day in any lot on campus. For those private lessons scheduled during the week, parents must use metered spaces or buy daily parking permits.
There is no charge for parking on weekends. Parking permits are required on HSU parking lots until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 5 p.m. Fridays.
One-day permits are available at self-serve dispensers located on Harpst St. or the library lot.There are also a limited number of parking meters on B St., Harpst St. and Rossow St. A semester evening permit may be purchased through the Cashiers Office.
