This curriculum is designed for those wishing to enhance or upgrade knowledge and skills in fire ecology, management of wildland fuels, prescribed fire and fire behavior.

Students can supplement previously taken college courses to help qualify for employment with various agencies and companies that manage wildlands.

The program is available for federal employees who work in fire management agencies. Employees from the U.S. Forest Service Region 5 may access the application forms here.

Employees from other agencies and regions should coordinate their applications through their own training programs.

Upon successful completion of the coursework, students will receive a Certificate of Study in Wildland Fire Management from Humboldt State University. Academic advising for students will be provided to students by faculty and staff at Humboldt State University.
