Conference DescriptionExpanding Your Horizons is a conference for 5th - 8th grade girls that is offered at HSU once every two years. The purpose of the conference is to encourage girls to take math and science in high school. At the conference, girls explore career options by attending hands-on workshops, and attending the science mall. Adult workshops are also offered for parents and teachers. Adults may not attend the student workshops. Over 200 volunteers from around Humboldt County help make the conference a success. If you would like to help, please contact the appropriate person on the EYH Coordinating Committee. Conference GoalsSince the first EYH conference, held at Mills College in Oakland California in 1976, more than 700,000 5th-12th grade girls and more than 59,000 parents and educators have attended EYH conferences.
