Mission and Vision
The mission of the Faculty Development Office (FDO) is to provide a centralized hub that supports faculty success and promotes teaching and learning excellence.
The vision of the Faculty Development Office (FDO) is to create spaces and opportunities where campus educators can engage as unapologetic learners to meet student needs as well as their own.
To promote excellence in teaching and learning at Humboldt State University and to support faculty needs, the FDO provides:
- individual consultation
- workshops, brown-bags, faculty learning communities, and other campus-wide events
- new faculty orientation
- resources (e.g., links, print materials, books for check out, small grant awards)

Accessibility Institute August 14th
This one-day Accessibility Institute offers four different workshops and additional lab time throughout the day (and a complimentary lunch!) to give you the training and support you need to make your instructional materials accessible.
Workshops include:
- Creating Accessible Word Documents
- Creating Accessible PowerPoints (using LecShare)
- Accessible Images in Moodle (using Gallery)
- Universal Design for Learning
- Lab time for hands-on support of your materials
