PS downtime this weekend

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

All PeopleSoft applications, Finance as well as HR, will be unavailable this holiday weekend while CMS cuts us over to a new Data Center facility in Salt Lake City. The systems will go down at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday March 30, and are expected back up sometime on Saturday April 1.

This is essentially a hardware upgrade only, so aside from the downtime, the changeover should be transparent to endusers.

PS Finance intro user training

Monday, March 13th, 2006

We are planning to re-offer the standard introductory training sequence for Finance users during the last week in March. The scheduled sessions are:

Monday March 27, 1:30-3:30pm, Navigation
Thursday March 30, 9-11am, Account Management

(Note that the day for the Account Management session has been changed from the date originally proposed to some of you.) The Account Management class will include a presentation by Joyce Baltierra from Procurement on managing open encumbrances and POs.

Both classes are in the CMS Lab, GH211c. Laptop seating is limited to 14 or so, with some additional seating for audit only. As usual, this training is intended for new users, but anyone is welcome to attend, subject to available space. Please pass the word to any new users in your areas. We’ll be announcing the classes in the campus staff bulk mail at the end of the week.

For more information, see the Training links on our Web page at http://www.humboldt.edu/~fiscal/topics/psfin/psfin.html.
