Accounting has announced that October 2006 (FY 2006, Accounting Period 4) is now officially closed in PS Finance. This means that no further entries will be posted to this period, so it is now stable for reporting purposes.
Finance production will be down this Thursday night, Nov. 16, for an application upgrade (to version 8.40.060). The database is scheduled to be taken down at 5:00 pm, and should be available again for your use by beginning of work Friday morning.

There is a known problem in PS Finance whereby some reports get stuck in Posting status; that is, a process finishes successfully (Run Status=Success), but its output does not complete posting to the report repository for viewing (Distribution Status=Posting), so you cannot see your output. This problem has been present for weeks now, and in the last week CSU CMS has come up with a temporary fix in production while awaiting a permanent solution from the vendor.
With the temporary fix, if your report hangs in Posting status, you can expect it to complete posting and be viewable within 30 minutes. We have been monitoring the queue daily, and have verified that reports are no longer remaining permanently stuck as was originally the case.
Bottom line: the majority of reports post promptly, but if yours is one of the unlucky ones, please be aware of its status, and give it a half hour or so. If you’re in a hurry, you can try rerunning the report to see if a second try posts normally; but there is NO POINT IN DOING THIS for reports that may take a long time to process such as the HUMGL015. (And, for update users: please don’t rerun update processes!!)
Our combo edit build problem as reported earlier this morning appears resolved, so you may now go ahead and do business as usual in PS Finance production.
Please refrain from creating and editing documents (requisitions, POs, vouchers, journals) in PS Finance until further notice. The combo edit build failed last night, and we are attempting to rebuild the edit tables. We expect to have further news within the hour.
