Accounting has announced that December 2006 (FY 2006, Accounting Period 6) is officially closed in PS Finance, effective yesterday 1/17/2007. This means that no further entries will be posted to the period, and it is stable for reporting purposes.
As required by the implementation of the RMP (Revenue Management Program http://www.calstate.edu/BF/rmp/rmp_home.shtml) a new cash account has been added to the chart of accounts. The new account number is 101006. All deposits as of January 2nd have been recorded in 101006. So, if you monitor cash balances by account you will need to add 101001 and 101006 together to determine your cash balance.
The account 101001 will be phased out, but for now you will need to add these two accounts together to determine your cash balance.
