In an effort to consolidate reporting solutions before the 9.0 upgrade, Financial Services and Technical Services will begin limiting access to the Query Viewer tool in PeopleSoft Finance. Beginning this week, we will be modifying security in PS Finance so that only Subject Matter Experts and core users in the Financial Services area will be able to run queries using Query Viewer. Departmental end users, whose reporting needs are already being met by delivered reports in the application and data warehouse, will no longer be able to run queries.

Decreasing our use of the Query Viewer tool in PS Finance will allow us to eliminate hundreds of seldom used queries. In addition, by moving our reporting solutions to the data warehouse, we can improve the overall performance of the system. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Technical Services.

Accounting has announced that March 2008 (FY 2007, Accounting Period 9) is now officially closed in PS Finance. This means that no further entries will be posted to this period, and it is now stable for reporting purposes.
