Fisheries Biology image

Humboldt State University offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate (MS) programs in Fisheries Biology and we hope that our web pages will provide you with a good idea of what our programs offer. Here are just a few of the many reasons to consider HSU for your Fisheries Biology education:

  • Outstanding Instruction - Faculty at HSU are dedicated to instruction of undergraduates and members of the Fisheries Biology faculty have received numerous awards for excellence of instruction.

  •

  • Hands-On, Field-Oriented Program - Few, if any, academic programs provide such a strong interplay between classroom theory and field laboratory practice.

  •

  • Spectacular Natural Setting and Wide Variety of Aquatic Resources and Habitats - Within 10-30 minutes of campus, you have access to the Pacific Ocean, Humboldt Bay, coastal lagoons, major coastal rivers, commercial fishing fleets and commercial aquaculture, and spectacular redwood forests.

  •

  • Modern, Up-to-Date Facilities - A newly remodeled and expanded (1999) Wildlife and Fisheries Building, an on-campus salmonid fish hatchery, a marine laboratory, a wastewater aquaculture facility, and a 90' ocean-going vessel are integral features of our instructional program.

Please visit us here for a quick tour of the Fisheries Biology Department, and see what great things we have to offer! Note: this is a large power point presentation

Enjoy Your Tour!
