Outstanding Students Saluted
Among the 2005 honorees for Humboldt
State University
undergraduates nominated for excellence by faculty, staff and fellow students
in such areas as academics, athletics, community service, and activism was Brian
Poxon, Fisheries major with an emphasis in
Freshwater. He received the award for excellence in a given discipline and
maintaining a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. Selected by the College
of Natural Resources and Science,
he is a Presidential Scholar with the second highest overall GPA of a
graduating senior majoring in biology in the last 35 years. He is a
fisheries field technician at HSU’s California
Cooperative Fisheries Research Unit and was volunteer at the Humboldt Fish
Action Council in Freshwater.
