Forestry Student Recruitment Alumni Program
Welcome to the Recruitment Web page! This page includes everything our active Forestry alumni need to give quality presentations and information about the forestry and natural resource degrees offered at Humboldt State to junior college and high school students, as well as other interested groups (i.e. boy scouts, 4-H etc.). If you are interested in giving a recruitment presentation to a classroom or small group near you, follow the easy steps below. Step 1: Find a local classroom or group near you that wants a presentation.
Search the “Recruitment Contact Information Database” for a local presentation location near you. The contact list is organized by county. It contains every high school and junior college within each county, contact information for individual teachers, and counselors that have already expressed interest in having a presentation conducted for their class or group. Once you find a location please contact them to set up the logistics for the presentation and let the Forestry Alumni Chapter know by e-mailing forestryalum@humboldt.edu.

Step 2: Download the Recruitment Powerpoint Presentation to utilize during your presentation.
Click the link below to download the PowerPoint presentation about the Humboldt Forestry and watershed program along with corresponding talking points for each slide (talking points can be viewed in the “Notes View” PowerPoint screen mode). You are responsible for getting the technology needed to show the presentation (most schools should have it for you).

Step 3: Getting Paper Handout Materials.
Two Options:
Option 1) Email forestryalum@humboldt.edu and request forestry brochures, admissions brochures to hand-out via mail (make sure to ask for a certain amount).
Provide us with the mailing address you want the materials to be sent to and your contact information.
Option 2) Download the forestry brochure and print it yourself. With this option you don’t receive the admissions brochure – not recommended.
Click the links below and follow the printing instructions to print the brochures (costs $1.50 - $2.00 per brochure to print).

Step 4 (Optional): Getting the Forestry Department Slide Show
The slide show is approximately four minutes long and highlights the programs diversity of options and social activities. This professionally produced slide show can be sent to you on a CD. Request it by emailing the forestry alumni: forestryalum@humboldt.edu. To view the Slide Show you need to have a “Flash” Program on the laptop you are using.
