Guy-Alain Amoussou, a Professor of Computer Science and Director of International Programs at Humboldt State University, a California State University, joined the Computing Science Department in the College of Natural Resources and Sciences during the Spring of 2000 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005 and Full Professor in 2008. He recieved his Ph.D in Industrial Systems Safety - Computer Science in 1999 from the Université de Technologie de Compiegne in France. He recieved a B.S. in Information and Computer Science from the Université de Picardie Jules Verne and his M.S. in Computer Science from the Université Paris Dauphine.
Prior to Humboldt State University, he was a visiting scholar at the Ohio State University, Laboratory of AI Research. He also taught and did research at the Industrial System Engineering Department at the Université de Technologie de Troyes. He is originally from Cote d'Ivoire (West Africa).
His current scholarship and creative activities include interests in collaborative / interdisciplinary design research, software systems, software engineering, knowledge management and telecommunications; computing education and undergraduates’ research with a focus on the integration of underrepresented groups. His teaching includes science of design, software engineering Information resource management/knowledge management, programming languages, and telecommunications.
He is Principal Investigator of five National Science Foundation education and research projects since 2005.
