Geosciences Teaching
Program at Humboldt State University
A new majors option at Humboldt has
been approved by the California Commission on Teacher
Credentialing, intended especially for students interested
in teaching geosciences at the secondary school level. The
option, within the geology department, offers a strong
foundation in geology, with breadth courses in oceanography,
meteorology, and astronomy. Additional course work includes
introductory chemistry, physics, and mathematics. Required
courses in the Geoscience Education option are listed
