The Tsunami hazard maps show areas of relative tsuanmi hazard for an extreme event. Unlike inundation maps with a single line to show the inland extent of flooding, these maps use a four-color scheme to represent relative risk. Red areas have flooded in historic times; orange may be flooded by great Cascadia tsunamis; yellow areas are safe in all but the rarest and most extreme events, and non-colored areas are too high or inland to be at risk.
These maps are intended to convey relative tsunami hazard and is intended for educational purposes only. It has been compiled from the best currently availble information. These maps include no information about the probability of a tsunami hitting any area within a specific time period.
