Requirements for Admission

All applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and have taken the basic prerequisites in Psychology.* In addition, it is recommended (but not required) that applicants submit Graduate Record Exam(GRE) scores for the General Exam.
Passing scores on the California Basic Educational Skills Test(CBEST)
Statement of Intent outlining the applicant's motivations and goals for graduate study and how prior education and work relate to School Psychology.

Three current letters of recommendation from university faculty, and employees or professionals who can discuss academic and professional potential.

*Prerequisites
General Psychology, Research Methods, Developmental Psychology, Introductory and Intermediate Statistics, Personality Theory or Abnormal Psychology. Equivalent course work, volunteer, or work-related experiences from other desciplines will be considered. In such cases, a request for waiver will need to be submitted.

Applicants must submit the following materials by FEBRUARY 15. Materials should be mailed several days before the receipt deadline.

FEES AND FINANCIAL AID:

Fees and tuition are subject to change. Current fees are approximately $1100 per year, with additional tuition for non-California residents of approximately $250 per unit. For the most current information, call the Office of Admissions and School Relations at (707) 826-4402.

At this time, the Department of Psychology has no resources for offering financial aid to graduate students, but we will assist students in finding other sources of support, particularly for pre-doctoral work for women and minorities.
