Four meal plans are offered—Green, Gold, Humboldt and Mini. A detailed explanation of the dining plans can be found in the dining website under meal plans. A resident of Redwood, Sunset, Cypress or Canyon must purchase one of the full meal plans (Green, Gold or Humboldt). The table above lists the combined room and board price.
There are annual, semester, monthly or financial aid payment plans.

- Initial distribution of license packets to all new students who applied for housing and have been admitted to the university for the 2008-2009 academic year. If you have not been admitted yet, license materials are sent to newly admitted students weekly after the initial distribution.

- April 18, 2008
- Deadline to submit license materials and initial payment for first run of fall room assignments. Room Assignments will be emailed in late May.

- Room assignment and payment plan emailed to those who returned their license and initial payment before the April 18 deadline. If all spaces have been reserved, the student will be notified of placement on a waiting list. Students are not guaranteed a space in the residence halls until a guarantee of assignment or a room assignment letter is received.

- Guarantee of assignment or wait list notices sent for those returning their license and initial payment after the April 18 deadline. A guarantee of assignment notice is for students who have submitted their license materials and initial payment and indicates a space in the residence halls is reserved for them for the academic year. If all spaces have been reserved, the student will be notified of placement on a waiting list. Students are not guaranteed a space in the residence halls until a guarantee of assignment or a room assignment letter is received.

- Last day to cancel license for Fall 2008 and provide 30 days notice. All license cancellations will be charged the license cancellation fee of $200. Please note that the Housing Office must receive such requests in writing or by email to housing@humboldt.edu by July 19, 2008. Cancellations to any other university office does not satisfy the requirement to notify the Housing Office directly.

- Last Day to Cancel License with the License Cancellation Fee and Penalties. After August 18, students are responsible for the entire license fee period. See the Housing License for more detail.

- Payment Due for Financial Aid Plans. Amounts will vary according to room assignment and meal plan selected. Refer to your payment plan sent with your room assignment for your specific payment amounts. If your financial aid does not cover the costs of your room and board in full, it is your responsibility to pay the remaining amount by September 8 or to stop by the Housing Cashier by September 8 to set up a personal payment plan.

- Last Day to Give Required 30 Days Notice to Vacate the Residence Halls at the End of the Fall Semester When Leaving HSU. Please stop by the Housing Office to complete a Request to Vacate Form if you are leaving HSU at the end of the fall semester. You are required to give 30 days notice to avoid penalties, and November 20 is 30 days before the end of the fall semester.

- Check-Out for Students Leaving HSU and Residence Halls at End of Fall Semester. Students leaving HSU and the residence halls must be checked out of the residence halls by 10am.

- Semester Break. Halls are open, however, no meal service December 20-January 12.
