RHA making change

The Residence Hall Association is a cooperative democratic government within the residence hall who is dedicated to the improvement of the residence hall student interest in the governing of that environment. The Residence Hall Association is comprised of any Humboldt State University student who is currently living on campus in the residence halls.

The Residence Hall Association is making some changes to their By-laws and Constitution. Please go to this website http://www3.humboldt.edu/reslife/node/54 to review the Residence Hall Association's current By-laws and the proposed changes. We hope to vote on and ratify our By-Laws on Monday, October 26th. If you have any comments, suggestions, or concerns you can email rha@humboldt.edu or come to our general council meetings on Mondays at 6pm in the Mad River Room (2nd floor of the JGC).

Thank you for your time,

Terri Lamarre
Residence Hall Association
President

Are you leaving HSU at the end of the semester?

Dear Resident,

ARE YOU LEAVING HSU AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER? ARE YOU GRADUATING OR TRANSFERRING FROM HSU? ARE YOU AN NSE (NATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE) STUDENTS AND ONLY REGISTERED FOR ONE SEMESTER AT HSU?

If so, you need to stop by the Housing Office and complete a request to vacate form by Thursday, November 19th, 2009. Doing so provides us with the required 30-day notice that you are vacating the residence halls because you are leaving the university. If you complete the form by November 30, you will not be charged penalties for not providing 30 days notice. After that date, you will be charged a prorated penalty fee for each day of notice that is less than the required 30 days. If you are leaving it is very important you complete this form.

PLEASE NOTE: This does not apply to students who wish to vacate the residence halls while remaining a student at the university. That is an entirely different process that you also need to complete through the Housing Office.

Sincerely,
Holly Freitas
