Pre-Physical Therapy

Humboldt State University's Pre-Physical Therapy option in Kinesiology (PDF) includes core classes in kinesiology plus specific course work required for admission to the majority of Physical Therapy post graduate programs.

Core kinesiology courses provide a strong foundation that complements post baccalaureate study in Physical Therapy. As Kinesiology majors, students will benefit from additional course work in the science of Human Movement including:

Each student´s academic program is tailored to fit the minimum entrance requirements for APTA* accredited Physical Therapy schools. Academic advising is a key factor in student success in developing a program of study that is appropriate to achieving placement in a Physical Therapy School. Individual academic plans are developed with consideration of the student's previous educational experience.

Students are encouraged to participate in internship opportunities in clinical and hospital settings as most Physical Therapy schools require at least 200 hours of documented experience in these settings.
