Email to students about HEIF

Dear Students,

Appearing on the upcoming fall registration bill, there will be an option
to add ten dollars to your registration fees. This money will be used
directly for the Humboldt Energy Independence Fund. I am in full support
of this voluntary fee, and strongly encourage you to join in the effort in
making HSU energy independent.

As you know, Humboldt State University is a leader in its precepts of
social and environmental responsibility. By contributing to this fund,
you will take part in enabling HSU's goal to implement sustainable energy
technology, alternative energy education for students across disciplines,
and making HSU renowned for its progressive, student-led initiative.

The Humboldt Energy Independence Fund was originated in 2000 by
students. It has been designed to be student led, implemented, and
funded. I strongly urge any student who recognizes the importance and
possibilities HEIF can bring to HSU to take responsibility and add your
name to the list of its contributors.

Below are links to websites for further research and understanding about
what you are being asked to contribute:

Thank you for your support in making HSU an energy sustainable campus.

Sincerely,

Rollin C. Richmond
