Faculty Athletics Representative - Nominations Requested
Dear Colleagues:
Professor Kathy Munoz has resigned her position as HSU's Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) effective July 1, 2005. On behalf of the University, I offer our thanks and appreciation to Professor Munoz for her contributions while serving in this capacity. I am inviting your nominations for a successor to be effective July 1, 2005. The FAR is defined in NCAA Bylaw 4.02.2 as a member of the university's faculty or a member of the university's administrative staff who holds faculty rank, and who is not in Athletics. She/he represents the institution and the faculty in the NCAA and serves on athletics-related committees within the university, representing faculty perspectives. The FAR will serve a three-year term, with reappointment possible. Please refer to the job description at http://www.humboldt.edu/~hsupres/appointments.html for additional information. You may nominate yourself or a colleague. If the latter, please confirm his/her willingness to serve. Service as the FAR requires training and professional travel to NCAA workshops. Three units of release time are provided for faculty members holding this position. Please forward nominations, including current CV's, to Denice Helwig in the President's Office by Friday, May 20.
