HSU Leadership and Graduation Pledge Alliance Conference

Dear HSU Student:

Please carefully consider attending the conference described below
which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Graduation Pledge begun
by HSU students. The celebration conference is being organized by
two students, Noelle Perlmutter and Johnathan Wu. Some of the best
traditions at HSU were initiated by students. I am especially proud
of the Graduation Pledge and will look forward to seeing you there.

Dear Students at Humboldt State University,

You are invited to attend the HSU Leadership and Graduation Pledge Alliance
Conference, Ignite: Lighting the Passion Within, this October 4-7th.

The Graduation Pledge started at HSU in 1987 and has since spread to over
200 colleges and universities around the world. Currently hosted at Bentley
College, the Pledge continues to inspire all to be mindful of how we can
change the world by the personal and career choices we make.

Ignite features inspirational keynote speakers Dr. Joe Martin and Melissa
Everett; innovative cooperative groups that allow for a focus in leadership,
social and/or environmental responsibility; workshops and special
presentations on getting involved in green and just careers and businesses;
practical skills in leadership and organization; celebrations for the 20th
Anniversary of GPA with food and music; a community outreach service
project; and many local sponsors involved in responsible practices.

On behalf of the Graduation Pledge Alliance, and a host of campus and
community sponsors, please join us in a historic celebration of student-led
involvement at our school.
