Diversity in Higher Education

To the Campus Community,

I am pleased to announce that the 15th Annual Forum for Diversity
in Graduate Education will be held at the Sacramento State
University campus on October 29, 2005. The forum is open to ALL
college juniors, seniors and master's candidates, but is
particularly designed to meet the needs of students from groups
that historically have been or currently are underrepresented in
American higher education. The forum is a program designed to
acquaint students with the career opportunities and academic
challenges associated with advanced study in a wide range of
disciplines through workshops and panel presentations. In
addition, students will have the opportunity to meet
representatives from the nation's leading graduate schools
offering master's and doctoral degrees.

The forum is a collaborative effort between the UC, CSU and
California private, independent colleges and federally funded
programs. Financial support is provided from the CSU Alliance for
Minority Participation and the National Science Foundation, the
CSU Pre-Doctoral Program, the University of California, the
Educational Testing Service and the Princeton Review.

The event is free for those interested in attending. Bus
transportation, hotel and lunch will be provided at no cost to
the student. In order to be considered, students must have at
least a 2.5 grade point average and may NOT be pursuing a
professional degree such as law, medicine, business
administration or dentistry. The student must complete and return
a copy of the application form to the Educational Opportunity
Program Office, House 56 (EOP). The deadline is October 12,
2005. Students will be notified of their acceptance and will be
asked to complete a registration form and attend an informational
workshop prior to the activity. A deposit of $10 will be required
to guarantee a bus seat and will be refunded upon arrival at Sacramento.

For an application to the forum or if you have any questions or
need additional information, please contact either Ryan Mann-Hamilton by email
