United Way Campus Campaign
Dear Colleagues:
It is my pleasure to help kick off the 2004 United California State Employees Charitable Campaign at Humboldt State University. We join together in association with both public and private institutions throughout Humboldt County who are being invited to participate in this important fund drive. In addition to this letter, you will be hearing >from University Co-Chairs Professor John Stuart (Forestry and Watershed Management) and Cherry Ouellette (Career Information Specialist) who are encouraging your active participation again this year.
The United Way of Humboldt County, on behalf of the State Board of Control, manages this campaign. The United Way of Humboldt County represents fourteen local agencies, which provide a broad spectrum of services to our community, for our friends and neighbors, and in some instances, our own faculty, staff and students. In addition to the local affiliated United Way agencies, this campaign supports many statewide and national organizations, which have been approached for participation by the State Board of Control. It is in recognition of these varied and valuable services that we as individuals are asked to consider participating in the United California State Employees Charitable Campaign. HSU and our communities have an enviable record of support for each other. I hope we can continue this tradition by assisting United Way and those agencies that help our neighbors. Please give as much as you can but do give. If you prefer, you may designate your gift to a specific charitable organization on your pledge form. Everyone's contribution is important and demonstrates the University's commitment to our community.
If you choose to contribute, you may do so through our payroll deduction program, or you may make a cash contribution. Many of you give generously in our community both through money as well as serving on Boards of Directors. Consider increasing your monthly contribution. Join me and become a member of our leadership group by giving $500 or more for the year. Let's make this the best Humboldt State University campaign to date.
