President’s Report
President Richmond:
- discussed excerpts from “The Entrepreneurial Imperative”
- emphasized the importance of the January 26 campus emergency exercise
- noted that he will be attending a meeting of the Governor’s Broadband Task Force on January 18 and requested information regarding the internet outage during the campus holiday break
- reported that Beth Ambos (Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Initiatives and Partnerships) will be visiting campus on January 30.
Other Reports
Provost Vrem reported:
- that his division has been busy addressing budget-related issues.
Professor Mortazavi reported:
- that the Senate Executive Committee will be discussing a resolution on the timely adoption of textbooks for students with disabilities at their January 18 meeting.
Vice President Coffey reported:
- that John Capaccio and Gary Krietsch are working on the new housing proposal, a $36 million project, which will be presented to the CSU Board of Directors in March (completion anticipated in Fall 2010).
- his division is working on the quality improvement program
Vice President Butler reported:
- that the Humboldt Orientation Program was taking place, with student participants slightly increased over last year.
- Mike Reilly will be invited to the January 25 University Executive Committee meeting to provide a Fall 2007 enrollment update.
- that the Upward Bound grant proposal has been submitted and the McNair proposal is nearing completion.
Operations Continuity Plan – CSU Executive Order
Anna Kircher and Carol Terry reviewed the draft CSU Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) which requires each campus to prepare a plan. This will be discussed further at a February University Executive Committee meeting.
Budget Update – UBC/Divisions
The budget timelines, including the submission of requested forms, were discussed.
