Other reports
Vice President Butler reported:

- Review of Visit from CSU Chancellor’s Office, CSUMB and CSU- Northridge on the Possibility of Moving to Voice over Internet Protocol for Telephone Service at HSU. Ann Burroughs reviewed the advantages and disadvantages of Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and how it may fit into HSU’s future plans.
Staff Recognition Award – Procedure
Lynda Moore reviewed the proposed campus letter soliciting nominations for the Staff Recognition Awards, as well as a new form which will notify the appropriate administrator, followed by the appropriate vice president of the nomination. Some of the comments included:
- These awards should reflect exemplary job performance or service to the Community.
- The campus letter should specify that an individual may receive this award no more than once in a five-year period.
- A retiring staff member may be nominated, as long as he/she is an active employee at the time of the nomination.
- Notifying all nominees of their nomination should be considered.
- Nominations will be requested during the fall semester, with the awards being announced during the Spring Welcome in January 2007.
Discussion of this item will be continued at the February 16 University Executive Committee. A revised letter and routing form will be distributed to the committee, along with an outline of the process.
