Quality Improvement
Paul Picciotta, CMS Director, provided a brief overview of the Quality Improvement Program. The program, whose rationale is, “To improve the organization’s performance results, increase organizational innovation to gain and sustain competitive advantages, create an environment that fosters social responsibility and ethical behavior, and increase organizational sustainability” received a favorable response by the University Executive Committee members.
U.S. News & World Report – College Rankings
Recent information received from an alumnus questioning the usefulness of the U.S. News and World Report college rankings was discussed. President Richmond may ask that this topic be discussed by the CSU Executive Council.
Budget – MultiCultural Center
The 2006/07 MultiCultural Center budget, as well as the 2006 Diversity Conference budget, were reviewed by Randi Darnall Burke. The Diversity Program Funding Committee, as part of their annual report, previously recommended that $10,000 be allocated for the annual Campus Dialogue on Race and $7,000 for the annual Diversity Conference, separate from the Diversity Program Funding Committee’s budget. Helen will obtain information regarding the amount of resources HSU allocates to diversity efforts in comparison with other campuses. Additionally, a system will be recommended which would provide qualitative and quantitative outcomes data on the effectiveness of the programs being funded, taking the diversity plan into consideration. This will be discussed again by the University Executive Committee in approximately six weeks.
