Teaching
Techniques Pat
Egenberger provided the following notes on techniques: Teachers
believed that the key to opening students’ minds to new understanding
was hearing, talking about, and discussing the ideas of other students.
Teachers believe that students learn best from whole class discussion
when they have first had the opportunity to struggle on the problem
on their own for a while. Teachers felt developing good story problems,
manipulative, and questions were necessary to reach these goals.
