A bachelor of science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine has provided me with a strong general biology background. Graduate studies at Humboldt State University have provided me with strong fisheries and quantitative skills. My educational background has given me the tools to design sophisticated sampling programs to investigate problems in freshwater fisheries. From the summer of 1999 through 2004, I conducted the Mad River – Redwood Creek hydrologic unit regional juvenile coho and steelhead abundance survey. I now use what was learned in those surveys to develop sampling frames for the California Department of Fish and Game’s coastal salmonid monitoring program. I have also helped develop a database to support the monitoring program.

What’s with the ‘Riverbed’ on my hat? You’ll have to ask.
