Project information
The ISA is continually involved in supporting a number of project and research initiatives. A brief summary and links (where available) for several of these projects are included below.
Northern California Marine Information System: ISA staff and student researchers are currenly developing and maintaining this Marine Information System to include an interactive map of marine data for the region.
Humboldt State University Center for Integrative Coastal Observation, Research and Education (CICORE): ISA staff and student researchers developed and maintain the CICORE website, including support for plotting of data streams from real-time data loggers.
ISA graduate students and staff have also conducted image processing of hyperspecral data and aerial photography for mapping and modeling of eelgrass and other habitiat types in Humboldt Bay.
Klamath Watershed Institute: Students and staff at ISA developed and maintain the KWI website including forthcoming development for an online water quality database and geospatial analysis in support of development of a basin-wide monitoring plan and an interactive geolinked water quality database.
Redwood Coast Connect: ISA staff developed and maintain all aspects of the RCC project website including interactive online surveys and project communcation. ISA is also conducting an extensive analysis of broadband infrastruture, demand and alternative options for provision of broadband service in rural communities in the redwood coast region of northern California.
California Center for Rural Policy: ISA provides geospatial analysis and mapping support for all aspects of CCRP's work. Numerous examples of maps developed by ISA students and staff are available on the CCRP website.
