Help Desk Support Services and Operations
The Help Desk provides assistance to HSU students with account activation, setting up email accounts, forwarding email, applications support, disk recovery, and other technology support. Extended support services for students include access to and assistance with multimedia production tools and thesis formatting. Other support services also include development of and orientation on new technologies; pilot projects to test potential new services; installing and upgrading ITS desktop hardware and software; desktop support for various campus administrative offices.
The Help Desk also serves as a first point of contact for faculty and staff by either providing immediate assistance or information on whom to contact for on-site or higher-level support.
Operations is responsible for all central computers; schedules and submits batch jobs in a timely and order dependent fashion to ensure financial and student records are kept current; and processes course evaluation surveys via a scanning service.
