ITS Furlough Information

Due to the severe state budget cuts to the California State University system, most of our employees are taking 24 unpaid furlough days this year. The majority of ITS support services will be unavailable on campus furlough days, except for those that are in direct support of instruction.

Labs & Smart Classrooms

Only those interdisciplinary computer labs & Smart classrooms that are scheduled for classes will be opened on furlough days.

Library 121 & 122 will be available for general drop-in computer use.

In the event of an emergency in one of these facilities, please contact x4201. Please note that due to limited staffing on furlough days, we may not be able to resolve any emergency issues within the timeframe of your class period. If you need to report a non-emergency problem, please visit https://www3.humboldt.edu/ditss/problem/.

Media Distribution

Media Distribution will be closed on campus furlough days. If you need to schedule a delivery or reserve equipment, please allow 1 business day following a furlough day for your request to be processed.

Media Production

Media Production will be closed on campus furlough days.

Help Desk & Moodle Support

The Help Desk will be closed on campus furlough days. You may submit a ticket to our online ticketing system, and we will respond during normal business hours.

If you are having a problem with your HSU User Name and password, please use the Password Reset Tool to change your password.

CMS Project Office

The CMS Project Office will be closed on campus furlough days.

The automated nightly refresh of Hyperion data will continue, although verification will not be performed on campus furlough days. If, for some reason, the nightly refresh fails on a furlough day, data from the previous day will still be available.

In the event that CMS, Hyperion, the data warehouse, and/or peripheral applications (e.g., Resource25, CashNet, DARS) are completely unavailable on a furlough day and your need is an emergency, please contact Systems Administration at the emergency contact number below. Otherwise, please log a support request at the CMS website Humboldt State University CMS Office Support Request for assistance, and we will respond during regular business hours.

Systems Administration

Services such as Email, Web, Moodle, Account Center, etc., will be available on campus furlough days.

In the event that a system is completely unavailable and your need is an emergency, please call x4415.

Otherwise, please log a support request with the Help Desk (http://help.humboldt.edu) for assistance, and we will respond during regular business hours.

Telecommunications & Network Services

Telecommunications and Network Services will be closed on furlough days.

If there is a network or telephone emergency, a message can be left for on-call/on-site Technicians. Network emergency call 826-6680 or Telephone emergency call 826-6149.

Non-emergency issues will be addressed during regular business hours by sending an email to netops@humboldt.edu.
