Services :: Software Purchase Agreements

Microsoft Campus, Select and Student Select Agreements

The California State University system has entered into three new agreements for Microsoft Software effective January 1, 2003. These new agreements replace and enhance the prior Campus Enterprise Agreement that expired December 2002.

The Microsoft Campus Agreement provides CSU faculty and staff with the use of certain Microsoft desktop products, server licenses and Server Client Access Licenses. The Campus Agreement also contains Work at Home Rights (WAH) that allow faculty and staff to install covered software on their home PCs on which the faculty or staff member is the primary user.

The Microsoft Select Agreement allows the CSU campus community (including Auxiliary Organizations) to purchase software licenses and media not included in the Campus Agreement at significant discounts.

The Microsoft Student Select Agreement allows students to purchase Microsoft products (licenses and CDs) at significantly reduced prices. Students can purchase software under this agreement at the HSU Bookstore.

For product descriptions, and to determine if you are eligible, visit the CSU-Microsoft Campus, Select and Student Select web site at http://msadmin.calstate.edu.

Eligibility

Guidelines for eligibility.

Faculty and Staff - The program is available to part-time employees as well as full-time. For example, if three lecturers use the same university-owned computer for their work-related activities, each may have copies of the software for their home computer. The CSU has paid the license fee for this program and, therefore, employees of auxiliary organizations are not eligible. Eligible faculty and staff should contact their IT Consultant to obtain the software for office computers. For information on how to purchase the media for home computers, contact the Bookstore Computer Department (826-5848).

Students - CSU students may purchase a license to use specified Microsoft products at a discounted price from the HSU Bookstore. There are a variety of products that can be purchased under this agreement. This is a new program and details are being finalized. More information and pricing will be posted as soon as it is available.
